Help Showcase Cinemas Distribute More Than 22,000 Ice Cream Cones on Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day!

The Business Wire  Thursday, April 5, 2018 ‹ Back to Press Releases

Showcase Cinemas fans should mark April 10th on their calendars because Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day is returning for the second year at Showcase Cinemas (and 40th year for Ben & Jerry’s)! A world leader in the motion picture exhibition industry, Showcase Cinemas invites movie-goers to visit the Ben & Jerry’s counter at select locations in Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. to receive a free ice cream cone. As if the offer could be any sweeter, Free Cone Day coincides with Bargain Tuesday, when general admission price is reduced to only $8.50 per ticket making it the perfect day to go to the movies!

Hoping to surpass the 22,000 cones claimed last year at Showcase Cinemas alone, Showcase is adding to the celebration by offering customers the chance to enter to win a special family movie-night prize-pack to their local theater. The prize will include four movie tickets, popcorn, beverages and Ben & Jerry’s treats for the whole family. Customers are encouraged to visit participating Showcase Cinemas with friends and family to claim their free cone and enter for the chance to win!

"As one of Ben & Jerry’s largest operators, we are thrilled to be participating in Free Cone Day again and hope, with the help of our customers, to surpass the 22,000 cones claimed last year,” said Mark Malinowski, Vice President of Global Marketing for National Amusements. “Just like Ben & Jerry’s, we love giving back to our community and we share many core values including a deep commitment to showing appreciation to our loyal customers. Come help us meet our goal and enjoy some free ice cream on April 10th! We look forward to exceeding the number of cones given away during last year’s event!”

For the past 40 years, Ben & Jerry’s has used Free Cone Day to thank customers for their loyalty and support and as a reminder that giving back to the community is just as sweet as free ice cream.

The following Showcase Cinemas locations will participate in Free Cone Day from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018:

  • Massachusetts: Dedham, Foxboro, Lowell, Randolph, Revere, Worcester, Blackstone Valley
  • New Jersey: Edgewater
  • New York: Brooklyn, Bronx, White Plains, Holtsville, Ridge Hill, Whitestone, Jamaica, Farmingdale
